Pabna Mental Hospital is a 500-bed mental hospital located in Hemayetpur village of Pabna District in Bangladesh. It was the only specialized mental hospital in the region when it was established.
The mental hospital was founded by Mohammad Hossain Ganguly in the village of Hemayetpur in Pabna District. The Civil Surgeon built the hospital in 1957 at the Shitlai Landlord’s palace in the city. After two years, the hospital was relocated. Jord Bangla temple
Jor Bangla Mandir, located at Raghabpur in Pabna district headquarters, is one of Bangladesh’s archaeological monuments. As there are no inscriptions, exact information about the builders and construction period of the temple is not available. According to legend, Brajmohan Krori, a tehsildar of the Nawab of Murshidabad, built this double Bengali temple in the middle of the 18th century.
Built on a brick altar, the temple has three entrances in front and two huge pillars on either side of the way. This entrance was once a whole of terracotta works like other temple parts. Annada Govinda Public Library started in 1890. At that time, Ganga Gobind Chowdhury was the zamindar of Tantiband in Sujanagar upazila in the district. His son Barda Gobind Chowdhury had no children. He adopted a son. This library was established in the name of that son, Annada Gobind Chowdhury. Initially, its journey started with a two-room building on 13 percent land. Pabna District Magistrate Collector F Biz was the founder president. Electricity did not come to Pabna then. Petromax lights worth 13 taka eight annas were installed for the reader’s convenience. Tarash Bhawan
Tarash Bhawan, or Tarash Rajbari, is an archaeological structure in Bangladesh. It was built in the 18th century and is located in the Pabna district headquarters.
During the British rule, Taras Rajbari was built by Rai Bahadur Banmali Roy, the zamindar of Taras. Architecturally, it resembles the European Renaissance style. On 8 January 1998, the Directorate of Archeology of the Government of Bangladesh listed it as a protected archaeological site.

Dighapatiarajbari (Uttara Ganobhaban) is in a pleasant atmosphere in Uttara Ganobhaban, about 3 kilometers north of Natorshahar. Rani Bhabani of Natore was pleased with his naib drama and presented him with the Dighapatiya Pargana. In 1947, after the abolition of the zamindari system in 1947, the last raja of Dighapatiya, Prativanath Roy, left the palace and went to Calcutta in 1952. Later, the castle was abandoned until 1965.
In 1966, the East Pakistan government came under control and was reformed as a government building. In 1972, it was called Uttara Ganobhaban. Under the Mughal regime, Kamdev Maitra was named ‘Sarkar.’ During the reign of King Nararnayana in Puthia of Rajshahi, the house was included in Laskarpur Pargar. Kamadeva Sarker was a Tahsildar from the village of Yehihati. Occasionally, he had to visit the Raj Darbar of Puthia. At that time, Puthia was the place to acquire knowledge. His three sons used to study in Ramjivan, Raghunandan, and Bishnaram Puthia. Raghunandan, the second and middle son among the three sons, was intelligent. He studied diligently and got the status of Persian language Persian. The Nawab government employed him in collaboration with Partha King Darpanarayan. This manor house was built around 1760. The founders of this zamindar house were Ram Sundar Saha and Ramchandra Saha, two sons of Tin Kari Saha. It is also known as Pratappur Bara Bari or Rajbari to locals. This zamindar was at the top of all the zamindars around this area. Descendants of these zamindars remained in this zamindari house till 2002, even after the abolition of the zamindari system. Some of the descendants of the zamindars still live in Dhaka and Chittagong, and some live in Calcutta and Tripura. The descendants of the Zamindar house still own the property of the Zamindar house. To establish the BRRI Regional Office, Sirajganj, 4 hectares of land were acquired in 2017 in Konabari Mouza under Kamarkhand Upazila of Sirajganj District. The office is located at Konabari, adjacent to Bishwa Road, 12 km from Sirajganj City. It falls under the Karatoya-Bengali floodplain and plain Barendra land (Agro-Environmental Zones-4 and 25) of the Jamuna Basin. The soil of the medium-high land in this region is light-textured sandy loam to loam, and the medium-low to low-lying land has athletic loam to silty loam in texture. The districts under the research of this office are Pabna, Sirajganj, Bogra, and Joypurhat. Rice-based single crop/double cropping is the central cropping system in this region. The main objective of establishing this regional office is to address the problems of rice cultivation in the Charn and Chalan Beel areas and solve them, especially by working on managing transboundary rice-sucking insects. Jamuna Multi-purpose Bridge (Bengali: যমুনা বহুমুখী সেতু, romanized: Jamuna Bahumukhee Setu), also known as Bangabandhu Bridge, is a bridge built over the Jamuna River in Bangladesh. The bridge was opened in June 1998. With a length of 4.8 kilometers, it is the second-longest bridge in Bangladesh. It connects Bhuapur on the east bank of the Jamuna River to Sirajganj on its west bank. Ninety percent of this bridge is in Tangail District, and ten percent is in Sirajganj District. It was the 11th longest bridge in the world in 1998 and is currently the 6th longest in South Asia. Tajhat Palace
The palace, with about 76 metres frontage, rises two storeys and is faced east. An imposing broad staircase in the centre, paved with imported white marble, leads directly above the portico to the upper storey.
The palace is crowned by a ribbed conical dome in the centre of the roof with a tall octagonal neck, partly supported on a series of slender semi-Corinthian columns. The balustrade on either side of the imposing staircase was originally embellished with various sculptures of classical Roman figures in Italian marble, but now these are missing. Two semi-octagonal projections and a central projecting porch are at each end of the front face. The balcony roof above the porch is carried on four graceful Corinthian columns with round shafts. Since 1947, a university in this region has been a long-cherished dream. Popular demand for a university that can reach many students desiring higher education in this vast region has always been intensely felt but never fulfilled. In 2001, Prime Minister Sheik Hasina laid the foundations of Rangpur University of Science and Technology. However, later, the establishment was canceled.
It was not until August 2007 that Fakhruddin Ahmed, chief advisor of the Caretaker Government, agreed to establish a full-fledged university in Rangpur. Fakhruddin Ahmad, in a historic meeting held in Rangpur on 2 February 2008, decided to establish the Rangpur University Ordinance on 15 June 2008. M. Lutfar Rahman was appointed the first vice-chancellor on 20 October 2008. Sundarban
Sundarbans means ‘beautiful forest’ or ‘beautiful forest land’ in Bengali. The Sundarbans may have been named after the Sundari tree, which grows abundantly in the region. Other possible explanations include that it may have been named after “Samudra Ban” or “Chandra-Bandhe (Bandhe)” (ancient tribal).
